Kauai, I Love You!
Do you want to go somewhere exotic? Perhaps a place where people speak a different language, have an unusual history or preserve a unique culture? Maybe a place so peaceful, you’d think it was a hidden paradise somewhere far and removed; as if it were a tiny island tucked away in one of the corners of the earth, but just slightly closer to home? Rejoice, dear friends! This place exists and it is called Kauai, Hawaii. It is the northernmost, geologically oldest, and most breathtakingly beautiful of all of the Hawaiian Islands. Known as the “Garden Isle”, Kauai is world famous for it’s rich and colorful nature, although, many visitors may be surprised to learn that the majority of the bright flowers aren’t native to Hawaii, settlers sailing from the Philippians first brought them there many years ago.It is the home of two sprawling botanical gardens, as well as The Waimea Canyon State Park, which actually features a real canyon referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” by none other than Mark Twain. But one of the more amazing attractions in Kauai is the spectacular marvel that is the Na Pali Coast. With its majestic cliffs towering over the sparkling water, it’s easy to understand how Kauai got its nickname.Want to experience it? Then check out the new and improved flight service to Hawaii via the Hawaiian Airlines, they are currently offering some of the best airfares and vacation packages around. However, we’re warning you now, when you first get to Kauai’s airport, you may be startled to see some of the islands more unusual habitants, wild chickens. With lush green vegetation, turquoise=blue water, and the super nice locals, the stunning island is more of a natural miracle, rather than a small but busting island full of charm, people and personality.Writer and Photo Source: Staff Writer Liz Belilovskaya
