Stevie Stork: The Art of Faux Flowers
Whether it be through statement furniture pieces, bold table prints, or faux flower pieces, Stevie Stork believes that we all deserve to have more beauty in our life at home. The innovative interior designer now expands her repertoire as an emerging author, releasing her first book, Modern Faux Flower Projects: Fresh, Stylish Arrangements and Home Decor with Silk Florals and Faux Greenery, as she celebrates the simplicity of faux flowers and incorporating them into our homes.
Stork has been serving clients across the United States since 2016. Her design style can be described as “elegant, eclectic, and essentialist.” Rather than following trends and themes, Stork instead believes that the key to brightening homes is through neutral spaces accented with bold pieces, using the “principles of rhythm and balance” to unify the rest of the space. “I take a lot of care in analyzing the proportions of a room so that I can select and position furniture in a way that maximizes your comfort as you use your living spaces. A well-designed room should feel peaceful and easy to be in and it's these small, often unnoticed considerations that set the spaces I design apart.”
Faux flowers have proven to be an evergreen statement piece in any home, but the art of arranging these pieces can often feel repetitive and boring. Stork states, “In my book, I’ll teach you how to create lovely, long-lasting decor for your home using silk flowers and artificial greenery. There will be DIY’s for every season, including tabletop arrangements, wreaths, and unique decor projects along with lots of tips, tricks, and techniques I’ve learned along the way!” The official copy of Modern Faux Flower Projects: Fresh, Stylish Arrangements and Home Decor with Silk Florals and Faux Greenery will be published by Fox Chapel Publishing.
