The Smartest Bike Helmet Ever - The Hovding Device
What if someone came to you and said, with absolute certainty, that they can invent an invisible bike helmet. Needless to say, the idea sounds a bit farfetched. All sorts of questions that will likely pop up in your mind. How would it work? What do you mean invisible? Are you sober? And so on.Yet we can tell you, with absolute certainty, that two incredibly awesome ladies from Sweden have already thought of this idea, and are currently in the last stages of making it come to life. It may seem like the stuff of magic, but it's not. It's called the Hovding device and the technology behind it is pretty amazing.Terese Alstin and Anna Haupt were studying Industrial Design at the University of Lund when they first started working on their project. Their motivation was simple, they didn't want to sacrifice good hair days for safety on a bike, and they wanted to be able to move their heads more freely as they rode around. This led them to create an amazing device; a bike helmet that works like an airbag, only on your head. The helmet looks like a collar around your neck. A built-in micro-computer monitors the bikers actions and shoots an inflatable, protective nylon hood around the bikers head the instant it senses an upcoming collision via change in movement. http://youtu.be/Tn65Bows0WsImage Source: Facebook
