It has just been announced that a new documentary about Bettie Page will be debuting in the next few weeks, and we can't wait. Enigmatic, sultry and forever immortalized as The Pin Up, she was the epitome of sweet and sexual beauty, or in other words, sweet and spice and everything nice! Narrated by the bombshell herself, Bettie Page Reveals All will unveil the reason she suddenly disappeared from the limelight at the hight of her popularity and what happened to her after.But first things first.bettieBettie Page was born Betty Mae Page in 1923. She did not have the best of childhoods; her parents divorced when she was only 10 years old and her abusive father was arrested when the young woman was just 13. In 1940 she graduated from high school and earned a scholarship to George Peabody College, hoping to eventually become a teacher. Yet one year after starting her studies, Bettie began taking acting classes that put her life on a whole new trajectory.bettie2Married by 1943 and divorced by 1947, Bettie moved to New York in 1949. She hoped to find work as an actress but supported herself mainly through secretarial work. One day, as she was walking on the Coney Island shore, she was spotted by Jerry Tibbs, a photographer and police officer, who put her first pin up portfolio together. The rest, as they say, is history.By 1955, Bettie Page became "Miss Pinup Girl of the World" and was even featured as Playmate of the Month in the January issue of Playboy that same year. Yet shortly after, she suddenly fell into obscurity until her death on December 11th, 2008.bettieThe documentary is a series of interviews recorded with her by Mark Mori in 1996 and 1999. Page reveals that her battle with paranoid schizophrenia was one of the reasons as to why she quit her career, but there were other factors, such as being targeted by McCarthy, the uber conservative politician who called her "indecent". Despite her withdrawal from the media, Bettie still managed to leave a mark on the world that is still extremely evident today.The documentary  premiers on November 22nd in New York City, and November 29th in Los Angles.
