Born in 1973, Argentinian artist Tomas Saraceno has graced the art world with his installation of On Space Time Foam at HangarBicocca, Milan. It projects a large transparent membrane (which he amusingly labels as la lasagna) bestowing a comprehensive mental and bodily experience. The installation is suspended 25-meters above the ground, at a colossal 1,312 square foot – transforming architecture into a living opus. It shifts to the movements of the individuals who stimulate it, allowing you to receive the perspective of the infinite relationships that tie us to space. Within a matter of minutes, Saraceno indulged his supporters with a meticulous description of how quantum physics has molded his projects.

As the artist explains, “the films constituting the living core of HangarBicocca are constantly altered by climate and the simple movement of people. Each step, each breath, modifies the entire space: it is a metaphor for how our interrelations affect the Earth and other universes.”Showcasing the consistent alternation and repetition of movement – marked by the regulated succession of opposite elements and energy, Saraceno is one remarkable designer.  Photo Source: Alessandro Coco
