Join the World’s Most Sought After Cycling Event
Sports Tours International is Europe’s leading specialist in sports travel. Since inception in 1973, they have hosted thousands of participants and spectators at major sporting events worldwide. With the tagline, Fanatical about Sport, the company’s initial roots came from a devotion to running when founder Vince Regan began taking runners to the NYC Marathon. Since the early 2000s, the company now embraces international cycling events and triathlon competitions, sports training camps and corporate hospitality.
Since the event’s inception eight years ago, Sports Tours International has hosted international visitors participating in one of the most-sought-after bicycle rides in the world.
After an inaugural in the 2012 Olympics, the 2020 Prudential Ride on April 16, 2020, is today the world’s most sought-after festival of cycling. Last year 100,000 riders participated across all events.
For riders interested in the 46- or 100-mile closed road events, Sports Tours International’s specialty is making it easy for participants and spectators to access world-class competitions. For this year’s RideLondon-Surrey competition, Sports Tours International offers Guaranteed Entry and accommodation packages for international cyclists and spectators.
“Think about the vast number of riders and their guests jockeying for hotels and the riders themselves trying to gain entry into the event,” said Ross Litherland, Sports Marketing Manager of U.K.-based Sports Tours International. “What we offer is a no-brainer – one-stop shopping that clears the way to have a good time in London.”
Riders are encouraged to attend a Sports Tours International race briefing at the hotel. Dedicated staff is available also at the hotel to answer questions and to lead a guided ride to the start. An area outside near the hotel will be designated for bike assembly.
The Melia White House is within walking distance to Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Camden Town. The neighborhood is well served by three underground stations with a five minutes’ walk. For details please see https://www.sportstoursinternational.co.uk/events/ridelondon/
In 2017 PrudentialRide London-Surrey was folded into the London Classics, a triathlon billed as the UK’s greatest mass participation challenge. To be part of the overall Classics series, participants must enter and compete in PrudentialRide London-Surrey 100 as well as in Swim Serpentine, a two-mile swim on a lake in Hyde Park in London on Sept. 12, 2020, and in the Virgin Money London Marathon scheduled April 26, 2020. Awards are given for successfully participating in all three events, although participation can be spread out in different years. All successful participants will receive a specially-designed London Classics medal engraved with the words Et ego Londinium vici (“I too have conquered London”) and will be listed in the London Classics Hall of Fame.
To be awarded a London Classics medal, one must finish all three Classics events:
● Virgin Money London Marathon
● Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100
● Swim Serpentine two-mile swim
There is no time limit on when these are completed and they can be done in any order. For details see https://www.thelondonclassics.co.uk/
