Young Entrepreneur’s Natural Hair Journey Leads to the Launch of Hair Bloom
Youma began her natural haircare journey in 2016 after graduating high school and suffering heat and chemical damage due to relaxers, weaves, flat irons and other unhealthy hair practices. After trying different natural ingredients she created Hair Bloom oil, drastically improving the growth and health of her hair. She began gifting then selling Hair Bloom on Facebook to her friends and Youma's Beauty was born.
Her mission is to connect and empower young women of color, to love and maintain their natural hair with her all-natural Hair Bloom hair oil, Coconut Aloe Vera shampoo, and Vanilla Safflower conditioner. She's putting a stop to natural hair discrimination by not just products alone, but social initiatives to raise awareness and open discussion on the issue. She knows the social injustice black women face in regard to how they should wear their hair which is why she's launching her own natural hair documentary for black history month in February 2020. Youma is changing the way society views black hair one Hair Bloom oil at a time.
