Walking for a Good Cause with Walk for Warmth
At Raine we are not just a magazine. Of course we believe in the entrepreneur and our mission has always been to tell the stories of the "up and coming," and the undiscovered gems in the creative industries. Like you, we have other interest that we like to share from time to time. We believe in giving back to the communities and people in which we serve, which is why we are so honored when we have the opportunity to talk about organizations that are doing just that; giving people a chance to live with dignity and bringing smiles to their faces.
New Opportunities is the proud sponsor of the Walk for Warmth fundraiser, celebrating 25 years of helping residents in Greater Meriden, CT with fuel related emergencies. Since beginning as a community based effort in 1989, their mission has been to raise money for an emergency fuel fund for people who have been affected by a crisis or cannot afford to heat their homes. To date, New Opportunities has raised over $360,000 to help families in need.
On March 22, 2014 New Opportunities of Greater Meriden is hosting its annual Walk for Warmth in Meriden, CT. The event will feature a USTAF endorsed 5k run and 3k walk. If you happen to be in Meriden and would like to add to this worthy cause be sure to visit New Opportunities on their website.
