Heather Bright

Heather Bright was born in Cape Town, South Africa. At the ripe age of seven, she began singing, dancing and performing. She had the opportunity at a young age to be trained in both classic and contemporary music. During her years at school she continued to train and won numerous awards for her performances from the Royal Academy of Music. She also performed as the lead role in local musicals and operas. In high school, she was selected to be a member of an elite vocal group, the Bergvliet Singers, under the direction of Jan-Walter Gouws. She continued on to study with Mr. Gouws one-on-one. He was a major influence in her love for music and singing and he helped her to develop her voice through the study of classical style and theory. In July 1999 she moved to Southern California with her family and continued to develop her music throughout high school. During this time she studied with Bob Corff in Los Angeles and worked to create her own unique sound by merging her classical training with a modern contemporary style. After graduating high school, Heather worked with Johnny Pierce at Cedarhouse Productions in Arrington, Tennessee. Johnny was a four-time nominated Grammy songwriter and producer who was very successful; they soon developed a friendship that allowed them to become successful together.Heather has written hit songs for top music artists such as Justin Bieber (Somebody To Love), and Rihanna (Umbrella, Man Down).Source: Heather Bright
