The Return of Arrested Development
The Internet is abuzz with the upcoming return of Arrested Development, the American television sitcom created by Mitchell Hurwitz. It previously aired on Fox from 2003 – 2006, but due to low audience engagement the series was eventually cancelled. While on air, the show found a loyal following which still continues to grow. This month, the series is back with new episodes airing on Netflix starting May 26th; some seriously overjoyed people simply can’t wait to resume watching. http://youtu.be/MfU2Td_MMf0A classic tale of riches to rags (yes, you read that correctly) the show is centered around the dysfunctional, once wealthy Bluth family, which is dealing with a large number of issues ranging from incarceration to deceit, along with their general inability to properly mimic a chicken.http://youtu.be/8x-7v3PJ6EgWhile the show was airing, it received widespread critical acclaim but six Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, and being listed on Time’s “100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME”, wasn’t enough to keep it on air. Rumors of a new season have been circulating ever since the show was initially cancelled, and finally, after all this time, it’s back. So, how did the series manage an eagerly awaited comeback and a possible movie as well? When the show was initially cancelled, Hurwitz stated that if there were a way to bring back the show without having it air weekly, he would consider it; luckily the deal with Netflix provided the opportunity. The cast members, including Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, Jason Bateman, Tony Hale, David Cross, Alia Shawcat, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter, will all reprise their original roles.Video Source: YouTubeImage Source: Wiki Commons
