TAG HEUER: Watches to Phones?

Is the most expensive Android phone worth the cost or just a stylish accessory?

The TAG Heuer watch company founded by Edouard Heuer, has decided to make its debut in the world of smart phones with the mobile device named the Link. Set for retail in the U.S. at $6,712, the Link once released will be the most expensive Android phone on the market. For such a hefty price, what is the innovative technology that is being brought to the table with the gadget?

Nothing new all at is being advanced in technology with the Link phone. The costly retail for the device is due to its outer appearance that features a gaudy extravagant look that would leave the most outlandish designers in the fashion world at awe. Decked in reptile skin, diamonds, calfskin leather, gold, and titanium the device uses the most eccentric materials not seen on most phones, giving buyers the look of exclusivity. Consumers who are fond of the TAG Heuer brand will catch wind that the phone takes up after the appearance of its watches with its glossy and sleek finish.

With the economy still convalescing from a recession, it is difficult to tell if the loud outer shell of the Link will be just enough to sell it. Featuring Android 2.2 and only 256 megs of internal memory, the phone trails behind the other smart phone models on shelves at the moment. The memory card having space of a mere 8GB doesn’t justify the purchase from the perspective of someone who is into the functionality of phones. A 5 mega pixel camera along with a video player and recorder are included, but that is expected of any gadget of similar to have.

If the phone does ultimately become a success story, will other future devices follow suit with a lofty price tag that relies less on the functions of the phone, but more on the design and appeal of its look. If so, plan to see many more jewelry and fashion companies to enter the world of communication with their own rendition of a stylish expensive phone. Written by Gregory Morris.
