Spa Do's:1. Always communicate with your technician. Making sure that your massage therapist knows how much pressure you like and that your aesthetician knows which prescriptions you are on will ensure that you get the most out of your service.2. Do Request. If you like your technician, make sure to ask for him or her the next time you visit.3. Book your next appointment before you leave. This way you are sure to stay on your program. If you wait too long, you’ll risk not being able to get an appointment at an ideal day and time.4. Do maintain a spa recommended skin care routine at home.  Following home care instructions including taking care of your hair, nails and skin will ensure that the benefits of your service last between visits.5. Always leave gratuity. If you are happy with your service, 15-20% gratuity is customary.

Spa Don'ts:

1. Don't linger too long. Your treatment room is probably booked out for another client after you. Taking a minute or two to ease yourself out of a relaxing treatment is important, but please don’t start catching up on emails in your treatment room after your service is finished.2. Try to avoid coming too late without calling. If you are running late, call the front desk and let them know.  Most spas and salons have a grace period after which your service may have to be shortened or rescheduled.3. Don't demand a service if your technician advises against it. If your aesthetician says that they can’t extract that blemish that is driving you nuts, there is a reason for it. Maybe it is still too deep, or maybe those at-home extractions that you attempted caused an infection.4. It's never wise to be an appointment hog. Please keep in mind that your appointment is your technician’s livelihood.  If you schedule for an 11 o'clock appointment, then call at 11:05 and ask to change your appointment to 12. Just be sure to call at 12:15 to say you can’t make it because your therapist has just missed out on two hours worth of their pay for the day.5. Never lose track of your valuables. Nothing will ruin an hour of relaxation faster than looking down at your hand and realizing that you left your grandmother’s ring somewhere in the spa. If possible, leave jewelry at home. If you must wear jewelry to a spa appointment, choose a safe place to put it beforehand, that way you don’t quickly stash it somewhere right before your treatment and forget later. For more information on the Mario Badescu Skin Care Salon, please visit the spa's official websiteWriter Source: Courtney A.
