This unique and beautiful form of art is truly exquisite.If you haven’t seen his work, you are seriously missing out on some quality art. Dale Chihuly has been working with glass since 1965, after he was first introduced to it at the University of Washington.Dale ChihulyDale ChihulyAfter graduating in 1965, Chihuly enrolled in the first glass program at the University of Wisconsin. He then continued his study at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he later established a popular glass program and taught it for more than a decade.While completing an internship at the Vinini glass factory in Venice, Italy, he observed a team who was quite influential in the way he blows glass today. In 1971, Chihuly co-founded the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State.Today, his work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide. He has been the recipient of many awards as well. He has created more than a dozen well-known pieces of art. In 1986, he was honored with a solo exhibition, Dale ChihulyObjets de verre, at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Palais du Louvre, in Paris. While in Paris, he began the Chihuly Over Venice, for which he created sculptures at glass factories in Finland, Ireland, and Mexico.This well respected and unique form of art is something that everyone should see. Glass blowing is a form of art that takes tremendous skill and dedication. It can be much appreciated for that and for the beauty that becomes of it.
