RAG & BONE - NYFW Spring/Summer 14'

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright are the rightful owners of the brilliant sophisticated brand Rag & Bone. Known for its workmen-style clothes and classic English tailoring, this season the two gentlemen showcased more sensible, au courant attire. And when those marathon of heels came down the runway, that precise attire will be owned by many who catch sight. The conversion of the line was vivid; the moment the models hit the catwalk inside the Mercedes-Benz tent. The risk was to go even more minimalist, to create a 1990s-esque aesthetic. Not many will approach the altar with white leather overalls, many might say insensible but Raine would like to call it bold.07scene-ragbone-slide-9FEA-jumbo"Wainwright said in an interview Friday just before the models stepped on to the runway, but a risk work taking. "I think we want to see something quite new for us, actually, quite a big departure from last season. We felt like we needed to change it up and do something cleaner and really fresh, and I hope you will see that."  Come production time, this spring 14’ holds this statement true.07scene-ragbone-slide-Z1MW-jumboWith all the hues of pinks, blues, smoky purples working equally alongside one another, the low-back, knee-length frocks shined fluently. The collection did not forsaken it’s signature at any rate, a handful of leather jackets and a series of softly tailored pieces pushed the presentation to its accustomed applause. This New York based, American brand may rest most of its tailoring upon a British take but bear in mind Rag & Bone never forgets its hipster approach. The details were candidly captured within its long, lean and layers in this year’s catwalk.07scene-ragbone-slide-DO7R-jumboDelicate dresses, whisper-like slips, and structural jackets were all among this year’s Spring collection. Not to mention Russell Westbrook looking chummy and in bliss next to Anna Wintour, Vogue's Editor in Chief during this year's presentation.OB-YV004_0906fa_G_20130907125124 IMAGE SOURCE: BARBARA ANASTACIO
