With all the fashion shows wrapping up in Milan, Giambattista Valli has always been a favorite of mine. Showing his first Haute Couture collection in July 2011, this year’s Spring 2013 Couture surely did not disappoint. With a collection of black and white detailed gowns, it showed him as a true master of an after-dark drama. His series showed a modern concept of luxury ad femininity – this Rome born and Paris based designer opens his show with minimalism and closing with his hedgelike volumes and embroideries. His bare shouldered shifts, knee-length hemlines and sleek silhouettes brought all the versatility in just the right portions.
