Labor weekend for most Americans or celebrators would consist of alcoholic drinks, lots of grilled BBQ eateries, and a fair amount of music festivals. One of the affairs was the Made in American Budweiser Festival in Philadelphia – the festival features several stages that continuously host live music from a wide range of genres including hip-hop, rock, pop, R&B, and EDM. The Budweiser Made in America Festival was founded by none other than our American rapper, record producer and business mogul Jay-Z - as a source to bring music and culture together for devotees. Last year’s event attracted around 80K worth of admirers and this year it did not lower its numbers by any means. The first day of Made in American featured such performances Solange, Wavves, AlunaGeorge, Nine Inch Nails, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Queens of the Stone Age, and many more.Queens of Stone AgeKendrick Lamar had the crowd up on their toes when he joined his comrades in the Black Hippy Crew appearance. Lamar lighted up tunes from his superb 2012 good kid album, M.A.A.D. City. The emcee spat rhymes for the blazing summer party anthem of "B*tch don’t kill my vibe" and kept the crowd roaring – a song whose title was emblazoned on many female Made in America attendee’s tees.British singer duo, Aluna Francis and beatmater George Reid blessed the Freedom Stage with a series of skillfully charming tunes such as “White Noise” and “Your Drums, Your Love” to seal up a mist-filled tent of enthusiasts.AlunaGeorge performs on the Freedom Stage during the Budweiser Made In America 2013 along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Divine and a stoic god in heels of sequined blazers plus a single suit – she warped her devotees to what is essentially a short preview of what happens during the Mrs. Carter Show. For years of being under the radar of her powerhouse sister, Beyonce – Solange has developed a funky, earthy indie appeal for her fans and kept to it. The singer couldn’t help but smile as she saw the dedication of her fans singing along to her old tunes.Inspired by the festival, director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer drafted up a documentary with Jay-Z set to release about the celebrations prior to this year’s event.Howard said the festival documentary will be "a reflection of the fabric of what it means to be 'Made in America' -- what the festival represents, why Jay is doing it and how he relates to each artist.PHOTO SOURCE: MADE IN AMERICA
