Lizzie Fortunato
The beauty and brains behind the fabulous jewelry line Lizzie Fortunato Jewels. Accessory fans, meet your new best friends. Elizabeth and Kathryn Fortunato are the fabulous ladies behind the New York City-based accessories line Lizzie Fortunato Jewels. This family business is designed by Elizabeth Fortunato and operated by her twin sister Kathryn. These amazing statement pieces fuse found, reclaimed, and precious materials, (I.e. coco bolo wood from Central America and seashells collected from a remote Costa Rican beach), into fashion forward and bold jewelry. The sisters’ brand is now synonymous with one-of-a-kind, ahead-of-the-curve, and fine, precise craftsmanship. These qualities are easily seen in their flawlessly handcrafted collars and leather goods collection, which features smooth Italian leather bags and out-of-this-world immaculate Indian beading. Lizzie Fortunato Jewels can be seen on the covers of Women’s Wear Daily, Vogue China, British Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. This label has already been recognized by Harper’s Bazaarz as “one of the world’s most promising accessories lines.” Their business started at Duke University in 2002 when designer Elizabeth and her sister Kathryn began marketing Elizabeth’s jewelry to their peers, where they developed a devoted clientele. They relocated to Manhattan after graduating, where Elizabeth spent a year as a fashion publicist before launching Lizzie Fortunato Jewels with Kathryn in Spring 2007. In January 2008 the line was honored with Daily Candy’s Sweetest Young Thing of 2007 award for “the year’s most innovative, inspiring, and promising designer.”These ladies are definitely not going anywhere any time soon with reviews like those!Info source:charmandchain.comlizziefortunatojewels.comPhoto source:lizziefortunatojewels.com
