He’s No Superman, but He’s A Darn Good Director
Seth Gordon’s films have yet to disappoint.Director Seth Gordon is taking the cinematic world by force, one hit movie at a time.He made his feature film directorial debut with the popular movie Four Christmases, featuring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. He first was a cameraman for the documentary Dixie Chicks: Shut up and Sing. Gorgon produced and edited the documentary, New York Doll, which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize in documentary at Sundance Film Festival 2005. In 2007, Gordon directed the critically acclaimed documentary “The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters,” which won Best Documentary awards from the Dallas/Fort Worth Film Critics, Online Film Critics, and Ohio Film Critics associations. This entertaining documentary was about Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell, two men in pursuit of the all-time record for the original “Donkey Kong” arcade game. It grossed less than $1 million in theaters, but it achieved great prominence, and a bit of controversy on the internet. Gordon graduated from Yale University, where he studied architecture and documentary film. His filmography includes several short films- Squirt, Fears of a Clown, and The Problem with Percival. These won awards at the Sundance and Slamdance Film Festivals, so they were not made in vain. His biggest budget film to date is Warner Bros.’ Horrible Bosses (2011), starring Jason Bateman, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey, and Jennifer Aniston. Gordon has also directed various music videos and commercials, as well as an episode each of Modern Family and Community, two episodes of The Office, and multiple episodes of Parks and Recreation.
