Google Glass gets and upgrade from Diane von Furstenberg

Google Glass is ditching its nerdy reputation, for a fashion upgrade from none other than iconic fashion superstar, Diane von Furstenberg. Similarly to how she revolutionized women's fashion closets with her famous wrap dresses, she is poised to take Google Glass from oh-so-geek, to uber chic!Diane_von_Furstenberg_2012_ShankboneGoogle has tapped fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg to create the Made for Glass series, in what has been hailed as this season's must know collaboration to update Google Glass with a more fashionable appeal. Behind this move is their (Google) attempt to shift public opinion of their tech glasses reputation as "nerdwear," and lend the brand some fashion-credibility from the fashion superstar.

Google-Glass-Diane-Von-Furstenberg-collection_dezeen_441The Made for Glass series is a collection of fashionable frames made to look more like traditional eyewear and includes five pairs of glasses and eight sunglasses designs. Each incorporates the camera and reflector on the right side, and the Von Furstenberg’s monogram on the left lens. The collection will be made available on Google Glass website and online retailer Net-a-Porter on June 23, 2014.
