Game of Thrones Season 5 Finale Shocks Fans

We saw a young queen ride a dragon, we saw the dead brought back to life and we saw a man burn his own daughter alive for the sake of victory (not to mention that now infamous rape scene with Sansa). In short, we thought we’d seen it all during the fifth season of Game of Thrones on HBO. Sadly, the season finale, “Mother’s Mercy,” which aired on Sunday June 14, proved how very wrong we could be.Once again, the finale underscored the one certainty in the world of George R.R. Martin: no one is safe, especially not your favorite characters. In true, GoT fashion, the rug was pulled out from under us for many pivotal protagonists and we’re now wondering what direction the fantasy series will take when it returns next year.If we had to sum up the three greatest points of the finale with no spoilers? A satisfying act of revenge, a walk of shame, and a betrayal worthy of Shakespeare. And let’s not forget a certain failure from one man who’s been seeking the Iron Throne for some time.Yes, it was a shocking episode that played with our emotions in the worst way possible.
